Double Trouble!

Filed under: General,Sample puzzles — djape

I have just completed a new enhanced version of my puzzle generator. We can now create any kind of overlapping Sudoku puzzles (Samurai-like) – that is, with any number or arrangement of 9×9 classic Sudoku inside.

Here I’m posting my first such puzzle – I’m calling it Double Trouble (the puzzle formerly known as “doubled-doku”). To spice it up a little extra, I made it “X” so be careful about the diagonals!

By clicking on this thumbnail a download will start which will give you the full puzzle.

Hi. This site is brilliant. I’m doing double-doku right now and i’m stuck, it’s quite hard. My question is: Is your new version of puzzle generator is going to be (in any form)available on this site?
    Bye

Hi Marta, I think I’ve slightly overdone the double-doku for the first example of such puzzle. You need to use naked/hidden subsets I think on the diagonals too in order to solve this one!

Sorry for that, I should’ve posted first an easy one. But this was literally the first one that worked so I thought I’d share it with you :) .

For the time being I do not intend to make the generator available. It’s far away from ready, plus I need to make a decent GUI for the solver etc. Not going to be done in near future.

I’m glad you like the site. Thanx a bunch!

I love your daily killers and have been hooked for some weeks. More fun than The Times ones. Thank you. I enjoyed the double x too but find the triple x too confusing as there are actually four 9×9 grids within it not 3 and the 4th one (in the centre) does not conform to sudoku rules as it is a triple puzzle. I’ll persevere using a coloured pen to outline the three in the triple and try and concentrate!
