Daily Kendoku (CanCan, SquareWisdom) #3

Filed under: Sample puzzles — djape @ 7:55 am

Some may not like the fact that today’s puzzle isn’t actually a SquareWisdom puzzle, instead, it’s actually a true hybrid between Killer Sudoku and Kendoku.

Having implemented Kendoku puzzles into my solver&generator program, it was a no brainer to extend it a little further and allow all four operators for my Killer Sudoku puzzles. And here is the result! icon smile Daily Kendoku (CanCan, SquareWisdom) #3

To clarify things, be aware that ALL Killer Sudoku rules apply, namely:

  • numbers CANNOT be repeated in CAGES (nor in rows/columns/nonets)
  • This, of course, is true FOR TODAY’S PUZZLE ONLY! Other KenDoku puzzles on this site, follow all standard KenDoku rules.

9×9 Kendoku and Killer Sudoku hybrid for Wednesday, October 8, 2008.

I am enjoying these puzzles but would it be possible to use the / symbol for division? When I print the puzzles I find it hard to tell the difference between addition and division.

    2. djape says:

      Pam,

I actually started making these puzzles with “/” but then switched to “÷”. I agree with you that it can be confusing, so I changed it back to “/”.

As of tomorrow you won’t have this problem!

      Thanks for your feedback.
