The Way Of Samurai 2: 105 puzzles available on Amazon.com!

Filed under: General, syndication — djape @ 11:00 pm

Nearly a year after it had been made available at LuLu, volume 2 of my book “The Way of Samurai” is now also available on Amazon! This is thanks to CreateSpace, an Amazon company, who also publish print-on-demand books, but offer better conditions both for authors and for readers. Believe it or not, the book is actually cheaper on Amazon than it is on LuLu!

Unfortunately (there always is a “but”, isn’t it?) the book will only be available on the main Amazon International site and will not appear on individual country sites such as Amazon UK.

I will be publishing more books now using CreateSpace so you can expect to find them on Amazon, too.

Killer Sudoku fans – a new Facebook group

Filed under: General — djape @ 11:18 am

Well, I bet most of you are using Facebook, so I thought it would be a good idea to create a group there for fans of Killer Sudoku and related puzzles. I’m not sure yet what it will be used for (perhaps a facebook game some day?), but feel free to join and suggest things there: http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21759594639

Saturday Special – Killer ACAN Square

The two anti-chess variants anti-knight and anti-camel cannot both exist on a sudoku grid with the standard 3×3 nonets, so I’ve removed the nonets!

In chess, a knight moves 2 cells horizontally and 1 cell vertically or vise versa.  Since this puzzle is anti-knight, none of the red X’s below can contain a 5 because the center cell is 5.

In fairy chess, a camel moves 3 cells horizontally and 1 cell vertically or vise versa.  Since this puzzle is anti-camel, none of the brown X’s below can contain a 5 because the center cell is 5.

This puzzle comes in two versions.  Click here for the INSANE version:

This text file contains the codes for the cages in both versions. To make them work with PerfectSudoku, you will need to change the tags at the beginning from 1×9 to 3×3

Flower Sudoku: 5 in 1 Sudoku puzzles in different flavors

Filed under: General, Overlapping Puzzles, Samurai sudoku, syndication — djape @ 9:29 pm

It’s been nearly a year since I stopped updating the Flower and Samurai Sudoku sites. It wasn’t worthwhile running 3 different websites on the same subject, so I decided to move everything back to this, the main site.

Many of you were disappointed with that and I’ve decided to try to make you happy again.

I’ve prepared 105 Flower Sudoku puzzles in 7 different varieties and put them in a book called “Flower Sudoku: 5 in 1 Sudoku puzzles in different flavors“.

The book is available as an e-book (PDF) or a paperback and can already be purchased on lulu.com!.

(click on the cover page to go to lulu and buy!)
PDF e-book from DJAPE
US $5.95 or £3.28 or €4.79 (PDF e-book)

(payable by PayPal or credit card)

In this book you will find 15 of each of the following:
- Classic Flower Sudoku
- Diagonal Flower Sudoku
- Odd/Even Flower Sudoku
- Greater/Less Than Flower Sudoku
- Non-consecutive Flower Sudoku
- Consecutive Flower Sudoku
- Killer Flower Sudoku

Each variety is evenly split into standard EASY – COOL – THINKER – BRAIN – IQ difficulty levels .

There will be more and more e-books coming until the end of this year, but I don’t have the schedule yet.
