Extra Special - Overlapping Kendoku TwoDoku puzzle
Well, a little later than anticipated, I am ready to show you my first Kendoku (aka Square Wisdom) puzzle!
And to compensate for being late, I have created something really special - the first ever (?) Overlapping Kendoku (CanCan, Square Wisdom) puzzle! If you have seen overlapping Kendoku puzzles elsewhere - please let me know.
Also, I’d like to let you know that as of Monday, October 6, 2008 I will be posting DAILY KENDOKU Puzzles here on the main page of the website!
Kendoku Rules: Solve the puzzle so that every row and every column contain all numbers from 1-9. Therefore, numbers cannot be repeated in a row or in a column. Further, numbers in each region (cage) surrounded by thick lines must result in the number indicated for that cage by using the arithmetic operation shown for that cage. To be more specific:
Anyway, here is today’s puzzle:
9×9 Kendoku in TwoDoku (Gattai-2) arrangement for Friday, October 3, 2008.
Click to download the puzzle in your favorite format:
You can use my Kendoku Calculator to help you out with the possible combinations for a cage.
These puzzles are also available to newspapers, magazines and other publishers. Be the first to have my Kendoku puzzles printed!
Questions, comments and suggestions are more than welcome!

This is an interesting innovation. I suspect the difficulty level might escalate rapidly as you develop the idea. I was grateful, for example, that there were only two overlapping puzzles, and that there were no small numbers for a cage without any indicated arithmetic operator.

It’s a fine puzzle. Thanks djape!
I’ve solved it without using any operator at all.

Enjoyed your puzzle, thanks DJ. Makes a change from doing killers - though I still prefer the killers.
