Flower Sudoku: 5 in 1 Sudoku puzzles in different flavors

Filed under: General, Samurai sudoku, syndication, Overlapping Puzzles — djape @ 9:29 pm

It’s been nearly a year since I stopped updating the Flower and Samurai Sudoku sites. It wasn’t worthwhile running 3 different websites on the same subject, so I decided to move everything back to this, the main site.

Many of you were disappointed with that and I’ve decided to try to make you happy again.

I’ve prepared 105 Flower Sudoku puzzles in 7 different varieties and put them in a book called “Flower Sudoku: 5 in 1 Sudoku puzzles in different flavors“.

The book is available as an e-book (PDF) or a paperback and can already be purchased on lulu.com!.

(click on the cover page to go to lulu and buy!)

US $5.95 or £3.28 or €4.79 (PDF e-book)

(payable by PayPal or credit card)

In this book you will find 15 of each of the following:
- Classic Flower Sudoku
- Diagonal Flower Sudoku
- Odd/Even Flower Sudoku
- Greater/Less Than Flower Sudoku
- Non-consecutive Flower Sudoku
- Consecutive Flower Sudoku
- Killer Flower Sudoku

Each variety is evenly split into standard EASY - COOL - THINKER - BRAIN - IQ difficulty levels .

There will be more and more e-books coming until the end of this year, but I don’t have the schedule yet.

Saturday Special - Samurai X Killer Sudoku

Djape has kindly granted me my own corner as well, which I will use to present my own hand-designed Saturday Specials.  We’ll start things off with a big one.

Samurai: This puzzle consists of 5 overlapping grids, which on their own don’t neccessarily have a unique solution, but together they do.

X: Along the diagonal lines in each puzzle, the numbers 1-9 may not repeat.

This puzzle comes in two versions.  The first is IQ, the second is BRAIN (but less fun, in my opinion)

Filed under: Samurai sudoku — djape @ 11:33 pm

I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear this: from this Saturday, June 7, 2008, I will start showing Samurai Sudoku puzzles every Saturday on the Samurai Sudoku page.

This is an addition to Samurai X puzzles which are shown every Tuesday. There will be no change there.

Also, I must apologies for the delay in displaying today’s Zero Killer Sudoku puzzle. I have uploaded a new puzzle for today a few minutes ago so everything is back to normal now.

Weekend Speial - Jigsaw Samurai Sudoku!

Filed under: Samurai sudoku, jigsaw sudoku — djape @ 11:24 am

It has been hinted that this kind of puzzle was going to be posted soon - and to end the suspense, here it is! :)

My first ever Jigsaw Samurai Sudoku! Not so many sites produce these puzzles. I might consider including them more often, or maybe even on a regular basis. We’ll see.

Jigsaw Samurai Sudoku for Saturday, July 21, 2007 - Difficulty: BRAIN

Rules: Solve the puzzle so that every row, column and jigsaw nonet contain all numbers from 1 to 9. There are no 3×3 square nonets as in ordinary Sudoku puzzles!

HINT: You need to use the Law of Leftovers to solve this puzzle. I will soon post an explanation of this technique.

Extra special - HYPER (aka Windoku) Samurai Sudoku

Filed under: Sample puzzles, Samurai sudoku — djape @ 12:52 pm

Ok, some of you thought that my previous invention was “nice” or even “very cool”, but some also thought that it was “really easy” and “not a challenge”.

So I have to keep inventing new stuff. I quickly checked the web and couldn’t find this variation. If you’ve already seen it, please let me know.

For the first time on this site, I’m presenting you with a HYPER Sudoku (aka Windoku) puzzle. There are 4 extra nonets which must obey the good old rules of Sudoku. Since many other authors are already creating this, I’ve prepared something special for you. A Hyper (Windoku) Samurai Sudoku puzzle. Since Samurai are 5-in-1 Sudoku and in each Sudoku you have 4 extra nonets, in this one you have 20 extra nonets to take care of!

All in all, it’s like having more than 250 Killer Sudoku puzzles. Hours of fun are guaranteed.
