This is just a reminder that tomorrow, on Sunday, February 28, 2010, my Samurai Sudoku puzzles will restart in the Comics section of The Washington Post.

Also, I am pleased to announce that I’ve made a deal with Kinokuniya bookstore from New York City. They will offer for sale all of my books, all 28 of them! So, if you are strolling down Manhattan, go to 1073 Avenue of the Americas and at least have a look at the hard copies of my books. I bet you’ll like them! Please let me know what you think of them and even more importantly, how they are presented in the Kinokuniya bookstore.

The Washington Post restarts with my Samurai Sudokus!

Good news folks!

The Washington Post have decided to restart printing my Samurai Sudoku puzzles in their Comics section of the Sunday issue… thanks to YOU! Apparently the readers have been clamoring for the return of Samurais and the editors had no other choice but to change their minds only a month after they decided to stop.

This makes me really proud and I don’t know how to thank you folks.

I’m still uncertain when precisely will the first puzzle be printed, but I think it will be 10 days from now, on Sunday, February 14. Stay tuned for confirmation of this.

UPDATE: I just found out that The Washington Post will restart with my Samurais on Sunday, February 28, 2010!

It’s been a while since I last posted a Samurai Sudoku variant puzzle. Here is a new one. As far as I remember, I never posted such puzzle before.

Remember: shaded cells MUST contain only ODD numbers!

The Washington Post stops printing my Samurai Sudoku puzzles

Bad news folks, I’m afraid: the Samurai Sudoku puzzle printed in the Comics section of The Washington Post on Sunday, December 27, 2009, would’ve been the last Samurai puzzle printed in this newspaper. After four years and more than 200 Samurai puzzles, they have decided to stop this feature.

From the editor: “The change is part of a larger agreement … and is not a result of any dissatisfaction with your puzzle.”

On the other hand, my Samurai puzzles will continue to feature in the Washington Express (the free newspaper) every Friday.

As a reminder to those who enjoy my Samurais, you can find two of them every week on the Samurai Sudoku page.

I’ve published 3 more books through CreateSpace: two new volumes of old books and one book that is new for Amazon. Here is what they are:

The Way of Samurai: 105 Samurai Sudoku puzzles, volume 3

Square Wisdom: 200 KenDoku puzzles, volume 2

Picross, Hanjie, Griddlers, Nonograms: 130 puzzles (please read below!)

Although first two books don’t need too much introduction, here is a brief description:

The Way of Samurai 3:

80 classic, 20 diagonal and 5 surprise Samurai Sudokus! While all puzzles are new, one of the surprise Samurais is extra special: no such puzzle has ever been published before – it’s a Samurai Sudoku Straights puzzle.

Square Wisdom: 200 CalcuDoku puzzles, vol. 2:

Everything is exactly the same as in volume 1, except of course that the puzzles are all new.

and finally…

Picross, Hanjie, Griddlers, Nonograms: 130 puzzles

This book is completely new for Amazon. However, I must tell you that a few of the puzzles in this book have already been printed in my LuLu book “Hanjie: 60 puzzles”. For various reason it had to be that way, primarily because of the way these puzzles are created.
